Tom Sun is the founder of G-STUDIO and has worked extensively in documentary photography and visual creation. His work explores the relationship between place, architecture, everyday life and the social environment, and has been published in media and photographic publications in China and internationally.
His long-term practice in documentary photography has shaped a distinctive way of observing space. For Sun, space is more than architecture itself; it is a visual field shaped by human activity, time, light and local culture. Rather than simply documenting architectural form, he is interested in the atmosphere, scale, order and traces of life that a space carries, seeking to establish an emotional connection between people and architecture through photography.
In recent years, he has extended this documentary approach to the photography of hotels, boutique guesthouses, restaurants, art spaces and architectural projects. In commercial space photography, he pays close attention to natural light, architectural structure, material qualities and atmosphere, while retaining the sensitivity to real places developed through his documentary practice. In this way, architecture is not presented simply as an object, but as a place with a sense of time, presence and narrative.
His spatial photography serves the architecture, design and hospitality industries, while continuing his long-term exploration of physical space as a documentary photographer and visual artist.
